National Hunting & Fishing Day
On the fourth Saturday of every September, NHF Day recognizes generations of sportsmen and women for their contributions to the conservation of our nation’s rich sporting heritage and natural resources. One of the main goals of National Hunting and Fishing Day is to recruit new hunters and anglers by encouraging participation and increasing public awareness of the connection between hunting, angling, and conservation. Through self-imposed fees and excise taxes, sportsmen and women have raised more than $57 billion--that’s more than $100,000 every 30 minutes being raised for conservation. NHF Day is the largest, most effective grassroots movement ever undertaken to promote outdoor sports and conservation.

Erie County Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs National Hunting & Fishing Day
The whole family can attend NHFD at Elma Conservation to SAFELY learn how to handle a bow, crossbow, rifle, air pistol and shotgun. All hands-on activity is closely monitored by experts. You’ll get a chance to talk to the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, see demonstrations by Ducks Unlimited, Erie County Trappers, Trout Unlimited, Lake Erie Fly Fishers and more. OTSELIC FISHING & HERITAGE DAY
In partnership with the South Otselic Fish Culture Station and Gladding Braided Products, LLC, the Otselic Valley Fishing & Heritage Association (OVF&HA) is proud to announce its sixteenth annual Fishing & Heritage Day will be held on Saturday, May 17th, from 9am to 4pm in the hamlet of South Otselic. Fishing & Heritage Day will include many popular activities as well as new offerings at the State Fish Hatchery, the Otselic Town Park, and other locations within the hamlet.
